Time Series

What is Time Series?

Time series refers to a list of data points in time order. Time series are particularly important for representing the change in value over time of data relevant to a particular problem, such as inventory levels, equipment temperature, financial values, or customer transactions.

Why are Time Series Important?

Time series provide the historical information that can be analyzed by AI and ML algorithms to generate and test predictive models. With the right cleansing, normalization, aggregation, and combination, time series data can represent the state of a process over time to identify patterns and correlations that can be used to create and evaluate predictions that can be applied to future behavior.

How C3 AI Enables Organizations to Leverage Time Series

C3 AI provides a scalable enterprise AI platform – the C3 AI® Platform – that supports the creation and use of time series data for AI applications. This complete, end-to-end platform enables designing, developing, deploying, and operating enterprise AI applications at industrial scale. With the C3 AI Application, organizations can accelerate development of enterprise AI applications on cloud platforms including AWS and Azure 25-fold and enables deployment in one-tenth the time of other approaches. Because of C3 AI’s revolutionary model-driven architecture, applications developed with the C3 AI Platform can run on any cloud with little or no change to the application code. The C3 AI Data Studio within the C3 AI Platform provides a number of functions to support time series from any source, including ingesting, cleansing, normalizing, aggregating, and storing values at any appropriate time interval for analysis.

C3 AI also delivers a portfolio of prebuilt, SaaS enterprise AI applications for a growing number of use cases such as C3 AI Reliability, C3 AI Inventory Optimization, C3 AI Fraud Detection, C3 AI Anti-Money Laundering, and more. Some of the world’s largest organizations – including Shell, the US Department of Defense, and Koch Industries – use C3 AI technology to drive digital transformation initiatives that significantly reduce costs, increase asset availability and reliability, improve human safety, and enhance customer satisfaction. These applications run out of the box on the leading cloud platforms. A C3 AI application can be configured to take advantage of microservices available from different cloud providers – for example, AWS’s image recognition can be combined with Google’s natural language processing in the same application.
